Responsibilities/Qualifications:
As a Store Team Member at Pet Supplies Plus, you are genuinely passionate about serving people and their pets. You strive to deliver exceptional, friendly service to every customer you encounter throughout your workday.
- Assist a neighbor in selecting the ideal toy for a terrier with a chewing habit.
- Compare ingredient labels of various food brands for a cat parent seeking guidance.
- Fit a squirming dachshund with a suitable harness.
- Educate a sixth grader about bird ownership.
- Perform shelf stocking and handle checkout for customers.
- Ensure all pets are fed and their cages are clean and tidy.

A Pet Supplies Plus Store Team Member is expected to handle a variety of tasks, with potential specialization in the following areas:
Cashier:
- Accurately and efficiently processing customers’ purchases.
- Informing customers about Preferred Pet Club membership benefits to ensure they don’t miss any special offers.

Stocker:
- Unloading delivery trucks safely and using appropriate equipment.
- Ensuring shelves are stocked so that pets like Fido always have access to their favorite chew toys and treats.
- Assisting customers by carrying bags of kibble, cat litter, aquariums, and other purchases to their cars.
Pet Care:
- Caring for pets in the store, including cleaning habitats, feeding, and handling animals.
- Addressing customers’ questions about animal care to assist them in finding or maintaining the ideal pet.
The Store Team Member role may involve physical demands such as heavy lifting (40-65 lbs.) and prolonged standing. We encourage learning through our interactive Pet Degree pay-for-knowledge programs. Ideal candidates for the Store Team Member position will:
- Provide mutual support by serving as backup when additional assistance is required.
- Possess knowledge about animals and our products to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Applicants must pass a drug screening (where applicable) and be at least 16 years old.
